Karl Friston is a theoretical neuroscientist and authority on brain imaging. He invented statistical parametric mapping (SPM), voxel-based morphometry (VBM) and dynamic causal modelling (DCM). This work was motivated by schizophrenia research – formulated as the dysconnection hypothesis.
